Playlist - April 4, 2013

"Aloha Kaua`i" brings you the music of Hawai`i -- from yesterday, today, and tomorrow -- culling from my personal library of hundreds of vinyls, cassettes and CDs. The broadcasts are live on Kaua`i Community Radio every Thursday and Friday 7-9am (HST). On Kaua`i, tune your radio to 90.9FM (north shore), 92.7FM (Moloa`a and Anahola), 91.9FM island-wide.

The show broadcasts live online, too -- listen at kkcr.org.

The 50th annual Merrie Monarch hula competition begins tonight (6PM HST) in Hilo on KFVE -- so today's "Aloha Kaua`i" show included lots of mele about Hilo town. You can watch the competition online, too. Tonight is the Miss Aloha Hula segment, Friday is the hula kahiko segment, and Saturday is the hula auana segment followed by the awards ceremony. Tune to KFVE for 3 nights of hula, hula, hula!
